How to get there:
By Air – An hour and 45 minute flight from Manila to Cotabato City or Davao city by Philippine Airlines, Air Philippines and Cebu Pacific Air then land trip to Kidapawan city.
By Land – Cotabato city to Kidapawan is a 2 hour drive by airconditioned buses and vans.
By Sea – Regular ship from Manila to Polloc Port, Parang, Shariff Kabunsuan (ARMM and vice versa by Aboitiz Superferry and Sulpicio Lines
Kidapawan takes its fruit growing industry to the streets – literally as the city celebrates the annual Kidapawan City Fruit Festival or Timpupo Festival. There are cultural shows, a parade of local fruit products, exhibits, street dancing competition and selected lectures on the fruit preparation process.
Kidapawan City, being considered the “Fruit Bowl of Cotabato”, ships fresh fruits not only in Manila but to Cebu as well at least twice a week, especially during the peak season. Fruits such as mangosteen are processed into tea and exported to other countries. Durian are processed into tarts and sold by the producers of the city.
